Street Fighter II
Championship Edition!
Since the humble beginnings of the Turbo Grafx 16, many games have been released. Over time, 8-meg games were thought to be the largest to ever exist. One day, an incredible game was released in the arcades that would change the face of gaming for a long time! This game was Street Fighter II, and it would eat up people's quarters until they were out of money. Since then incredible changes were made, and the game got better and better. Versions of Street Fighter II have been released on the Sega Genesis and the Super Nintendo. Games have gotten larger, sprites have grown, speech has been added, and colors have gotten brighter since then. While many believed the Super Nintendo Version to be the best ever, they never knew what they were missing!!
The PC-Engine has, by far, some of the best games ever released for a 16-bit console, and Street Fighter II, Championship Edition has been no dissapointment. Some of the sharpest and most detailed graphics ever have been put into this tiny card which weighed in at 20 megabits!! This was one of the very first games to be this size!
Take a look at these graphics! Capcom has never released a better game for the PC-Engine, and they are one of the few companies to take the Turbo to it's limits! This version of Street Fighter II is almost identical to the arcade! Origionally released at approximatly $120 (plus a 6-button controller), this game has gotten the attention from many gamers who had the desire to play games with incredible quality! The Super Nintendo and Genesis versions of this game suddenly loose their sparkle when stuck next to the PC-Engine version.
If anyone can find a copy of this, you should snap it up as soon as possible because this game is definately one of the best PC-Engine games ever! Because of the PC-Engine's huge sprite capabilities, this game rocks and moves extremely fast!
All of the voices are included in this game! If you haven't noticed yet, all of the characters are included, and the graphics are not choppy in the least! From what I've noticed while playing this game, there are features included that are not seen elswhere...even for 32-bit systems.
Judging by the actual idea of the game, it looks as if someone woke up in Japan. Never have I seen a more popular game released for the PC-Engine. Too bad this game never came to America. This may have helped keep the Turbo alive! Such an acheivement deserves recognition.
