-The thrilling sequal to one of the best series on the Turbo and PC-Engine!

Do I like Hudson Soft or what??
Another hit for the Hudson group!!

Bomberman'94 is really cool! First off, the game weighs in at a hefty 8 meg and second, the quality of this game is truly that of a CD!
The intro starts out in space with any normal starry view.. then suddenly, a comet flies out from nowhere, and smacks right into a planet! Unfortunately this just so happens to be the same planet Bomberman lives at!

It also seems as if the comet hit on a certain stone in a certain shrine! What really stinks is that your planet is now broken up into 5 pieces that Bomberman must conquer!

For those of you that wonder why yet another Bomberman adventure would come out... take a look at what is written ahead!

To bomb, or to be bombed ... that is the question-

So, you thought you laid your last bomb when you flnished Bomberman part 1 or Bomberman'93? Wrong! In this game of might makes right, bombs aren't your only weapon, and you don't always go along the straight path! In Bomberman'94, you must make certain decisions to help your friends. Starting at level 1, you will notice that the blocks are not set up in any particular order, but instead freedom was allowed for movement through doors, crossing of bridges, and for setting clever traps. The enemies are not just one small size, but there are now large characters that roam the screen. Many of the small and large characters have their own movements and attacks..?! Yes, attacks..no typos made! Cute cuddly bunny wabbits walk along, but when you approach them, the suddenly turn into boxing bunnies! small guys may walk around and turn into stone so that you won't see them. Other character blow fire, or maybe even electrocute!

While blowing up the walls, you will suddenly find that you now get more than 1 powerup per level. This is great now because it saves the long amounts of time spent trying to find -the- powerup at the end of each level.

During each level, you must destroy the power orbs to destroy the main power orb. The reason why you would want to do this is to recover and repair the stone tablets in the shrines..which will also unite the planet once again.

A kangaroo..?

One of the best new features ofBomberman'94, is the addition of the lovable Kangaroo characters. These furry friends are extremely cute, and useful as well! Bomberman can always use their help especially since this is the most complex Bomberman game yet. There are 5 different kangaroos that you c pick up (from a kangaroo egg) along the way. Each of THE 5 kangaroos has t own separate powers, and they are divided up into different colors.
Blue kangaroos are able to kick bombs... but wait, you say, I was able to do that in Bomberman 93! BZZZT! This kangaroo has a powerful kick that is sure amaze you! The Bombs can even be kicked onto the other side of the screen The green kangaroos can go 0-1 000 in 112 of a second flat.! The yellow kangaroo can kick the bricks quite a distance, and will even kick a row of bricks with no problem at all! The purple kangaroo buddies are able to jump over bricks and bombs..this is perfect for any sneaky ideas you may have in mind. I've had people hop over a brick, drop a bomb, while trapping me in a corner and then bailing out before the bomb blows!

The pink kangaroo .... well, what CAN the pink kangaroo do anyway... what exactly IS left for it to do? I mean, what do you expect..a song and a dance? Well, that is exactly what it does.. a little song and dance while Bomberman bounces around on top!
Besides the fact that the kangaroo characters serve a certain purpose in the game, they are also good for another hit to Bomberman. When a bomb goes off near Bomberman and the kangaroo, the kangaroo is the one that "takes the heat" while Bomberman gets off without a scratch.

Another really nice feature in Bomberman'94 is the addition of 8 new characters to choose from in the battle mode! There is an old man, a sumo Bomberman, a mini Bomberman, a policeman, a robo Bomberman as well a few others! Thee characters can be played by all players participating in the battle game (as well as the computer players). The addition of teams in the battle game is very nice also, so you don't have to always be against each other.. and the games don't drag on,

The multiplayer levels are also very well layed out now, and there are a nice variety of excellent arenas! One speedway arena lets all contestants run as fast as possible while other levels will start everyone off with every powerup there is to have! Another favorite level of mine is the snowy level where there are igloos to hide your bombs in, and another favorite is the water level that uses actual real-time ripple effects (hey, the Turbo can't do that...can it?) which actually looks like you are underwater with all of the fish! No level is the same as the other in Bomberman '94, so your enjoyment can be all the better.

So have I covered everything yet? Nope , in fact, I have only started. During the normal gameplay, there is an assortment of new things to enjoy. The bosses at the end of each level are nothing like any other Bomberman. In Fact, they are often several stories high like the second level boss which builds up in separate levels until he is gigantic. Not to be forgotten is the crab boss in level 3 (and blieve me, he is bad!!) that is able to stop Bomberman's bombs from blowing up and he will try to run Bomberman over every now and then.
One thing I was impressed about is the fact that I noticed no flicker when these large bosses move around at high speed while bombs go off all over!
Throughout the many levels, you will notice many enhancements that are very nice! In level 2, there is the new addition of mining cars. Watch for many road kills from here on out :)

The final view:

For those of you that have been looking for the latest and greatest Bomberman, you won't find it on any other system! The Turbo still kicks, and games like Bomberman '94 are the games to keep the system alive. If you are still playing part 1.. it is time for an upgrade!
